For Your Home: Floral Art Brightens Your Space

Ahhh…spring is in the air.

And with it, the urge to redecorate is strong.  As the days get longer and spring gets seductively closer, I find myself drawn to fresh color combinations to bring a new look and pop of color to my home decor.  It’s true you don’t need to spend a lot of money to bring new life to a tired space–sometimes just a new coat of paint will do.  If you don’t want to invest that much time–or potential mess–in a decorating project, try adding new wall art.
For Spring 2016, I am working with two fresh palettes for my abstract flower series on paper:  Green, Yellow, Navy and Teal, Orange, Yellow, Brown.
Original art is surprisingly affordable, and with a little browsing you can find unique, affordable wall art that will not only accent your space but will be a unique reflection of you as well.
I redesign my living room mantle to reflect the change of seasons and my mood.  For the fall and winter, I used this black and white floral abstract as a focal piece, bringing a modern design element to compliment the more rustic natural artifacts.
But with spring just around the corner, I tend to want more color, so using the same white frame I simply removed the black mat and filled it with an 8×10 flower abstract from my Teal Multi Series.  See how that simple pop of color really changes the feel of the space?
Using original art as a focal design element not only creates a space that is uniquely yours, but switching it out as the mood strikes gives you the opportunity to freshen the look of any space within a budget.  If my art is not quite your style, there are many other amazing artists on Etsy to help you on your way.  Head on over and browse to find your design style.  Happy decorating!
