What Are Kazuri Beads?

So what exactly are Kazuri beads?

Kazuri is a Swahili word meaning “small and beautiful.””  Kazuri beads are wonderful, glossy, ceramic beads that are hand made in Africa of clay from Mount Kenya.  They come in a variety of shapes, sizes, colors, and patterns, with the drill hole generally accommodating  2mm leather cord quite nicely.

My earrings made from Kazuri beads are priced just a smidgen higher than most of my earring designs, simply because these beads are high quality imports and cost a bit more per bead than others.  However, I believe they are well worth it!

For those of you interested in commissioning a design with Kazuri beads, I suggest browsing Antelope Beads for color and pattern options and availability.
